Nathan was our outgoing exchange student who went to the Czech Republic
This is a land of castles, 1.5 million people.  He was warmly welcomed, by his host
family and his host brother who had been on exchange in Canada for a year.  An awesome dinner awaited him.   The dinner of dumplings and meat takes three days to prepare.  A week later it was his birthday and he was knighted with a toy sword.
His town was in the North East corner of the Country.   Some facts:  1303 Cathedrals
1220 the town was formed, 1223 was the date of the oldest church.   Rotary District #60 tests exchange students to see they are adapting to the language.  The education system is two levels.  At graduation everyone dresses to the nines.  Nathan’s Line of
“I do not know how to dance” had many ladies coming to his aid. At Christmas real candles are put on the tree and the gifts are from the Baby Jesus.  At New Years he went Skiing in the Chopok Mountain.  His second host family very fit and they took Nathan Mountain Climbing.  The Rotary Tour included Rome, Florence, Capri, and Barcelona.  Needless to say it was hard to leave all the friends he had made.
The most profound discovery for Nathan was that he could choose and recognize who he is as person.
With pictures and stories well presented , Nathan  made us proud of the Rotary Exchange Programe
