No minutes for last year's meeting as they could not be obtained by the start of today’s meeting.

President Ron introduce Adam Shaw to review our financial statement

Adam went over in detail our operating funds and the clubs service funds.

A few notes…

            The club was very busy in the last year over $49,000 put back into our community.   Compared to $5240 in 2012.

            2013 Dragon Boat Festival, Revenue $41466, Expenses $21085, netting $20381.  Another successful festival

            Fun League revenue $4645, continues to work.

            Music Festival – Positive cash flow and continues to be very good for the community

            Rotary Roses continues to do very well

            Don F is doing great at staying on top of money being collected and paid

Adam wrapped it up by asking if there was any questions…

            Dr. Reid – question regarding dictionary program

            Fred – question regarding membership dues, pending on when money gets collected could show on either 2012 or 2013 financials.

            Hazel – Question regarding the Wine promotion, Chris reminded the club it was John Curries thing to go along with Ingersoll Club and other clubs

            Ifhan – Question with where the golf tourney expenses were … will hand them in have them added to the financials

            Fred – Wondering about the cash service fund, it was additional profits from the dragon boat festival and music festival

            Fred – Angel Tree fund?  Was a program along with the salvation army to give gifts to those in need.

            Fred – Polio Speakers $375?  Was our club donation to our guest speakers when we immunize 50 people from polio

            Fred – Why dragon boat festival advertising so much higher than last year.  Dave brought up that it included some of 2012 advertising.  (Sun Media invoices)

Music Festival was brought up that we would not be getting the scholarship money from heart fm again, however President Ron confirmed that we will be getting the $5000 again from “the slots”.

President Ron did a slideshow on the year in review, and thanked many of the committee leaders.

New Rotary sign on Landsdowne Ave

Dave Lowes Memorial Playground Park and Sign, drive out 59 (Van Ave) go west  on Lakeview (left) down a little bit and on the right side. ($25,000 from Rotary) On a Monday in May we will do a ribbon cutting at the park.  The equipment was all done in Blue and Gold, looking at getting a bench down and garbage bin as well with Rotary logo, so we will be very visible.

Race against Drugs was a success again in November, there was a education trailer there which because of your involvement also had our Rotary Logo on it.

Youth Exchange Maria is here from Finland and enjoying herself.  (forgot about our students name and location )

President Ron went over our goals for the next year and how we will continue to do the elevator speech, a short two minute speech from our members about why we joined Rotary, and what we do ect. 

Music Festival will be starting in a month, Gary says things are going along well and that they are looking to collecting money for advertising so the programs  can get started.

No motion for auditor the next term as the board would like to get the books all in order and accounting looked at.
